Nice bonus, but at 6 dollars a pop, wouldn’t you be better off playing higher limit slot machines and getting better odds? Not that a 500+ dollar bonus is nothing to sneeze at!
i’m probably calling there, but he easily coulda been betting a 2 on the flop, slowed down on the turn after the call, then picked up steam with the 2 on the river. like demidov said, he was only beating a bluff.
@Unkn0wN21 ppl dont bluff that spot very often, it was a very weird raise from eastgate, 9/10 ppl will turn over a rivered backdoor flush, almost never do u expect to see a bluff there. but as u pointed out there are so few hands that are value betting, not even A2 is a consideration, maybe AK is possible, so i dont think demidov is really ever planning on folding there, hes just crying a little for the camera in case he got rivered. nevertheless calling on the river is usually a losing play
@Furthermore23 your getting odds to call 4-1 on your money to call the raise. wtf are you scared for. if eastgate had AK or a set he wouldve bet the turn but he checked. Easy call noobs. Please fold that hand anyday. Regardless he was calling its just he was like wtf does eastgate have. WTF do you put him on? 72 or A2, or 77? really? wow you suck at poker.
nop, it wasnt a trap for sure.. he bet on the flop, then he checked on the turn to save his ass. Position was in his favor. If it was the other way around he might have pulled his bluff.
Position plays a crucial role when it comes to the oportunity to make a sucessful bluff
if eastgate had something on the flop(as he wanted to act like, betting) , and he catched the turn club 4/5 flush, he would never chek the turn. eastgate just bet because demidov chek the flop. so yes. it s an easy call

Eastgate is a good player but i think demidov is better
November 29th, 2010 at 6:04 pm
i dont see anything strange in this hand, just a stupid raise from eastgate, he should have just called with his 10-10-2-2, or go all in
November 29th, 2010 at 6:27 pm
easy call?? i think you will be eliminated in day 1 of WSOP if someone hits a set on you.

November 29th, 2010 at 7:16 pm
unless he is playing aggressively and value beating a set of 2′s Demidov didn’t think that was likely either and called
November 29th, 2010 at 7:49 pm
or it was a trap in hopes he’d draw out. Playing a world champ I’d have to assume the check on the turn was a trap.
